Islamabad (PR: November 12, 2024): Chairman Capital Development Authority Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a meeting at CDA headquarters to discuss the long-term beautification of the capital city. The CDA’s Member (Environment), Member (Engineering), and senior officers from the Environment Wing and Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), participated in the meeting alongside the Baku Team from Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa was given detailed briefing on the ongoing beautification efforts by the Baku Team.The Chairman expressed his appreciation for the Baku Team’s efforts and conveyed the Prime Minister’s acknowledgment of their contributions for beautification of Islamabad especially during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. However, he emphasized the need to continue these efforts for a long-term beautification of Islamabad.
The Baku Team briefed the meeting on different projects including the uplift of Said Pur Village, revitalization of Melody Market, G-6 and beautification of main avenues, walkways, parking areas, and green belts across Islamabad.
He encouraged the Baku Team to share their future design proposals of beautification with the CDA’s Environment Wing.
The Chairman also directed that the beautification efforts must incorporate preservation of the green areas and more focus on natural landscaping.
The Chairman CDA directed to work out a cost effective design proposal for the face uplift of Civil Secretariat Building.
The Chairman directed to review the proposal of permanent lighting on the roads and bridges from technical point of view. He instructed to change the light poles on Constitution Avenue and to share the design proposals for the poles.
The Chairman CDA emphasized the need for these beautification efforts to be sustained for the long term.
The Chairman CDA stressed upon to develop a comprehensive long-term beautification plan for Islamabad with clear timelines, outcomes and deliverables.
