Washington: The United States has once again demanded an investigation into allegations of rigging in the general elections in Pakistan.
According to the World News Agency, during the weekly briefing to the spokesperson of the US Department of State, Matthew Miller, journalists asked questions about the allegations of rigging during the general election in Pakistan and the possible coalition government.
A journalist asked what is America’s reaction to the possibility of forming a coalition government in Pakistan without Tehreek-e-Insaf, to which Matthew Miller emphasized that the formation of a coalition government in Pakistan is exactly like the British parliamentary system.
Mathew Miller further said that the issue of forming a coalition government is an internal matter of Pakistan. The US does not have the authority to make any decision on it, but the people of Pakistan have the right to make this decision.
Asked about the alleged rigging and irregularities in the elections, Matthew Miller said, “We have previously called for an investigation into these allegations and we believe this is the most appropriate step.”
US Spokesman Matthew Miller also made it clear that he is looking forward to working with the new government in Pakistan and expanding bilateral relations.
