Lahore: It has been a year since Qavi Khan, the famous actor of Pakistan showbiz industry, left his fans.
Qavi Khan, one of PTV’s leading artists, was also honored with several awards including Presidential Medal for Good Performance, Satara Imtaz, Nishan Imtiaz in recognition of his artistic services.
Muhammad Qavi Khan, who ruled the Pakistan showbiz industry for years, was born on 15 November 1942 in Peshawar and started his career as a child artist with Radio Pakistan.
Started regular acting with PTV in 1964 and played timeless roles in several dramas while his role as a police officer in the drama ‘Andhira Ajala’ brought him to the heights of fame.
Qavi Khan started his film career in 1965 and during his long career, he appeared in more than two hundred films including Mohabbate Zindagi Hai, Society Girl, Chin Sooraj, Sarfroosh, Kaale Chor, Zameen Asman.
Actor Qavi Khan was the first Pakistani television actor to be awarded the Presidential Medal for Excellence in Performance, later he was also awarded the Satara Imtiaz and Nishan Imtiaz in recognition of his unforgettable performance.
