Pakistan Successfully Conducts Flight Test of Indigenous Fa’az Air-to-Air Missile
Faaz Air-to-Air Missile
Pakistan has achieved another milestone in its defence technology programme after successfully testing the Fa’az air-to-air missile, the country’s first indigenously developed weapon system of its kind, the military’s media wing announced on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the successful flight test took place on November 3, 2026, demonstrating progress in Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its domestic aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.
The Fa’az missile features an advanced terminal guidance system designed to engage aerial targets at extended ranges. Its induction is expected to provide the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) with greater operational flexibility and further enhance the country’s air defence capabilities.
ISPR described the achievement as evidence of the growing technical expertise, innovation and self-reliance of Pakistan’s defence industry.
The flight test was witnessed by senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces, as well as scientists and engineers who contributed to the development of the missile system.
The President, Prime Minister, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, along with the services chiefs, congratulated the scientists and engineers on the successful test, acknowledging their efforts in achieving this technological milestone.
The development represents an important step towards strengthening Pakistan’s indigenous defence production and reducing reliance on externally developed military technologies.
