New cricket stadium and academy at Gulberg Greens will offer international-standard coaching and training opportunities to emerging cricketers.
ISLAMABAD: A significant initiative to strengthen sports infrastructure in Islamabad has been launched with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IB Employees Cooperative Housing Society (IBECHS), Gulberg Islamabad, and the Shadab Khan Cricket Academy.
The MoU was signed during a ceremony in Islamabad attended by Pakistan cricketer Shadab Khan, President Gulberg Islamabad Tariq Mahmood Khan, Secretary Malik Muhammad Zaheer Khan and other members of the society’s management.

Shadab Khan and Tariq Mahmood Khan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under the agreement, a modern cricket stadium and the Shadab Khan Cricket Academy will be established at Gulberg Greens. The project aims to provide international-standard coaching, training and sporting facilities for emerging cricketers from Islamabad and Rawalpindi as well as talented players from across Pakistan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shadab Khan said the initiative would give young cricketers greater access to quality coaching and modern training facilities.
He said the development would help create opportunities for aspiring players to compete at regional and international levels.
Shadab Khan described the initiative as a positive development for Pakistan cricket, expressing hope that state-of-the-art stadium and training facilities would contribute to a new era of growth for the sport.

“Such state-of-the-art stadiums and training facilities will provide our young cricketers with opportunities to play regional and international cricket,” he said.
The proposed facility is expected to contribute to the development of grassroots cricket and provide a professional environment where young players can develop their skills and pursue careers in competitive cricket.
