US Will Use Military, Economic and Diplomatic Means Against Iran: VP J.D. Vance
Washington, August 6, 2026: US Vice President J.D. Vance has declared that the United States is prepared to use military, economic, and diplomatic measures to address its ongoing dispute with Iran, emphasizing that Washington’s top priority is preventing Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Vance acknowledged that negotiations with Iran remain highly challenging due to divisions within the country’s leadership. He said different factions hold conflicting views, with some seeking an end to hostilities while others favor continuing the confrontation.
According to the US vice president, the United States must pursue a strategy that protects its national interests while working toward the best possible outcome. He expressed hope that the current tensions could eventually be resolved but cautioned that any diplomatic breakthrough would require time and patience.
Vance also suggested that a successful agreement with Iran could help stabilize global energy markets by reducing oil prices, providing relief to economies affected by high fuel costs.
Reiterating Washington’s long-standing position, he stated that the United States would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
“The United States will use every available tool—including military strength, economic pressure, and diplomacy—to ensure Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon,” Vance said.
His remarks come as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high, even as reports continue to emerge about indirect diplomatic contacts and the possibility of renewed negotiations.
