Wheat consumption in Punjab is two and a half times more than Sindh. Production here is 22.05 million metric tons, while wheat production in Sindh is only 3.54 million metric tons.
The provincial minister said that Punjab has a surplus of 6.63+ million frog tons of wheat and Sindh is facing a deficit of 3.19 million tons. Wheat is produced in excess in Punjab, while Sindh is facing a severe shortage. Punjab is the largest wheat-producing province, and it also meets the needs of other provinces. Sindh is not able to produce wheat according to the needs of its population, which is why supply is required from other places.
