World Pharmacists Day, 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS), Gulberg Greens Campus, Islamabad. The celebration commenced with a vibrant Pharmacist Walk under the slogan “Think Health, Think Pharmacist”, reflecting the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare. The formal program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, Naat, and the National Anthem, followed by a warm welcome note.
Inspiring speeches were delivered by the Campus Director, Dr. Sarwat Jamila, and the Director RIPS, Dr. Umair Ilyas, who highlighted the significance of pharmacy education, research, and ethical values.
Eminent guest speakers, Prof. Dr. Nadia Shamshad (Professor & HOD, Pharmaceutics, CUST, Islamabad) and Dr. Reem Altaf (Assistant Professor & HOD, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, CUST, Islamabad), shared valuable insights on the role of pharmacists, research, and innovation. Dr. Shifa Khan Bangash (Vice President, PPA) and Dr. Alishba Khan (Secretary, PPC) further addressed the importance of professional advocacy and quality education in the pharmacy profession.
The celebration also featured student poster presentations, showcasing their innovative ideas and research contributions. Souvenirs were presented to the honorable guests in recognition of their contributions. The program included an award distribution ceremony for students with outstanding academic achievements, along with appreciation certificates for their active involvement.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity and a collective commitment to the pharmacy profession. The event not only honored the role of pharmacists in healthcare but also inspired students to pursue excellence with dedication and compassion.
