The prize money has been announced for the Indian team that won the title of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy for the fifth time.
According to media reports, the Indian Hockey Federation has announced a prize of Rs 3 lakh for each player for winning the title of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, while each member of the support staff will be given Rs 1.5 lakh.
The Indian hockey team won the bronze medal in the Olympics 2024 while the gold medal in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy.
Earlier, the sports ministry had given 7.5 lakh Indian rupees along with the support staff members for winning the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics.
India has won the event 5 times, with the first title being won in the year 2011 followed by two consecutive wins in 2016, 2018 and now the tournament for the second consecutive time in 2023, 2024.
It should be noted that Pakistan won the bronze medal in the tournament, while the federation announced to give only 100 dollars to the players for their outstanding performance.
