Tel Aviv: According to several foreign media, Iran has decided to attack Israel to avenge the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh.
A reporter for a leading American website reported yesterday, citing two sources, that the Israeli intelligence community believes that Iran has decided to launch a direct attack on Israel and could do so within days.
According to the reporter, this attack will be carried out to avenge the martyrdom of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in late July. Israel has neither accepted nor denied responsibility for the killing.
The Palestinian resistance group Hamas said on July 31 that Haniyeh was martyred in Iran in the early hours of the morning, describing the attack as a “severe tension”.
The news comes less than 24 hours after Israel claimed to have killed the Hezbollah commander behind a deadly attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
