London: England Women whitewashed the series by defeating New Zealand Women by 20 runs in the fifth T20I.
In the fifth and final match of the T20 series played in London, the New Zealand team managed to score 135 runs in the allotted overs for the loss of 8 wickets in pursuit of the target.
On behalf of the Kiwis, Amlia stood out by scoring 43 runs. Brooke Halliday 25, Suzie Betts 16, captain Sophie Devine 12, Jess Kerr 8, Georgia Plimer 8, Isabella Guise 5 and Maddie Green 4 all.
Lia Tahoehoe 9 and Aidan Carson 1 return to the not out pavilion.
For England, Lorraine Bell took 3 wickets, Charlie Dean and Freya Kemp took 2, 2 while Lorraine Filler took 1 wicket.
Earlier, batting first at the invitation of New Zealand, England Women scored 155 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted overs.
England’s Heather Knight stood out by scoring 46 not out. Elise Capse 25, Charlie Dean 24, Nate Sciver-Brent 16, Maia Boshear 13, Amy Jones 11, Freya Kemp 2 and Danny Waite 0 runs out.
Sophie Ecclestone returned to the pavilion unbeaten by scoring 8 runs.
For New Zealand Weems, Fran Jones took 4, Aidan Carson 2 and Jess Kerr 1.
