Australia has deported four Indian spies for targeting defense technology, politicians and airport security.
The fresh eviction of spies is being hailed as a major blow to the Modi government in Australia as well, the eviction of 4 spies was revealed by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in its investigation.
The first news of the Indian network being exposed in Australia came in April when the Washington Post reported that two Indian spies had been expelled.
India’s espionage activities have also been exposed in Canada and America. The main purpose of the spying network set up by the Indian intelligence agency “RAW” was to keep an eye on Indians living abroad and to intimidate dissent.
In 2021, the head of Australian intelligence, Mike Burgess, uncovered an unnamed “network of spies” in India and exposed spies masquerading as diplomats.
Burgess confirmed that spies posing as diplomats developed relationships with politicians and state police and sought classified information about airport security.
