Islamabad / Mir Ali: In Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, a vehicle surrounded by explosives hit a check post by terrorists, as a result of which seven army personnel including lieutenant colonel and captain were martyred.
According to ISPR, on the morning of March 16, a group of six terrorists attacked a post of security forces in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan. Security forces foiled the initial infiltration attempt.
The terrorists rammed a car full of explosives into the post, which was followed by several suicide bombings, which resulted in the collapse of a part of a building resulting in the martyrdom of five brave sons of the motherland, among the martyrs were Havaldar Sabir, Naik Khurshid includes Sepah Nasir, Sepah Raja and Sepah Sajjad.
According to ISPR, during the clearance operation, the security forces led by Lt Col Kashif retaliated effectively and killed all the six terrorists, however, leading their troops from the front during a fierce exchange of fire. Lt. Col. Syed Kashif Ali and Capt. Muhammad Ahmad Badr fought bravely and sacrificed while fighting and embraced martyrdom.
According to ISPR, a sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists present in the area. Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country and our brave soldiers are doing such a good job. Sacrifices strengthen our resolve.
President’s tribute to martyrs
President Asif Zardari paid homage to the officers and men of the Pakistan Army martyred in the terrorist attack and expressed the national determination for the complete end of terrorism. He prayed for high status for the martyrs and patience for the families.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif condemned the incident as a cowardly act and expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of security forces officers and men. He said that the soldiers of the security forces crushed the evil intentions of the terrorists. The whole nation, including me, is proud of the martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed grief while condemning the incident and said that the nation will never forget the sacrifices of its young men. They are following the nefarious designs of the enemy in which they will never succeed.
