Lahore : The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has achieved a significant milestone in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2026, securing 4th position among Pakistan’s private universities, 161 in Asia and 573 position globally.
Chairman and President UMT, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, congratulated the faculty, research scholars, students and administration on the achievement, saying that UMT’s strong position in the global rankings reflects its commitment to maintaining high standards in education and research, as well as the sustained efforts of the entire UMT community. He said UMT’s continued achievements in education and research are a matter of pride for Pakistan and demonstrate the potential of Pakistani universities to achieve international recognition in education, research and innovation.
Ibrahim Murad said UMT is focusing on further strengthening its global standing through excellence in education, research, innovation and international collaboration. He appreciated the contributions of faculty members, researchers, students and the administrative team, saying that the achievement would serve as an impetus for setting and achieving even higher goals in the future.
Chairman UMT expressed confidence that UMT will soon join the ranks of the world’s leading universities. He emphasized the need to promote high-quality research, internationally relevant academic programs and greater opportunities for students and faculty to further strengthen Pakistan’s representation among leading global universities.
He reiterated UMT’s commitment to mobilizing all available resources to further elevate the university’s position on the global academic landscape and enhance its contribution to Pakistan’s higher education and research sector.
