Ahead of the Champions Trophy, Australia suffered a major setback in the form of captain Pat Cummins.
According to media reports, Australian chief selector George Bailey has revealed that Australian captain Pat Cummins suffered an ankle injury in the fifth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but he was scanned.
Pat Cummins and his wife were out of the first Test match of the series to welcome their second child into the world.
Captain Pat Cummins’ injury in the Australian camp has also raised doubts about his inclusion in the Champions Trophy squad.
Meanwhile, selector George Bailey told the media in a press conference that Pat Cummins is on parental leave, but he did not definitively say whether Cummins will be part of the squad for the Champions Trophy or not.
On the other hand, national team opener Saim Ayub has already been ruled out of the team for 6 weeks after sustaining an injury due to a fractured right ankle while fielding on the first day of the Cape Town Test.
