Rochester: A new study suggests that smart watches can help scientists better understand the treatment of the disease by diagnosing the symptoms of epilepsy.
Neurologists at the University of Rochester Medical Center in the US used an Apple Watch connected to an iPhone and examined people with early stages of epilepsy for a year.
The research found that in this way, scientists could detect early signs of a rash, while voice recordings could provide additional information about speech problems.
Jamie Adams from Jamia said that digital measures ensure targeted and sensitive measures regarding disease progression.
He said that this research shows that the data provided by smartphones and smartwatches can monitor the disease and mark various changes in it. These digital examinations can help test the effectiveness of future therapies.
