Salman Khan Urges Students to End NEET Protest, Appeals to Sonam Wangchuk to Break Hunger Strike
Mumbai: – Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has appealed to students protesting the alleged NEET-UG 2026 exam paper leak to end their demonstrations and return home, while also urging social activist Sonam Wangchuk to conclude his ongoing hunger strike.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Salman Khan said that students’ education and safety should remain the top priority, adding that they should not become a source of anxiety for themselves or their families.
The actor expressed confidence that the Indian government would take strict action against those responsible for the alleged examination paper leak following assurances from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He encouraged students to trust the process and resume their studies.
Addressing Sonam Wangchuk directly, Salman Khan wrote that it was time to end the hunger strike, saying, “Sonam, enough now, my friend. You can continue the struggle later if needed. Please eat something. If you want, I’ll even send food from my home.”
The appeal came a day after Salman Khan publicly supported students protesting the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, describing the controversy as a serious issue for India’s education system.
For several weeks, thousands of students, parents, and civil society activists have been staging peaceful demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding an impartial investigation into the alleged paper leak, strict punishment for those responsible, justice for affected candidates, and comprehensive reforms to the examination system.
Sonam Wangchuk has also been observing a prolonged hunger strike in solidarity with the protesters. Reports indicate that his health deteriorated during the fast, leading to his hospitalization.
The movement has attracted nationwide attention, with renewed debate emerging after the government’s assurance of legal action against those involved and promises to strengthen the integrity of the examination system.
