BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid Visits Bisp Offices In Haripur And Abbottabad, Briefs Women Beneficiaries On The New Digital Wallet System

Haripur/Abbottabad, July 18, 2026: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, visited BISP offices in Haripur and Abbottabad on Saturday to review operations and meet women beneficiaries, while introducing the government’s new Digital Wallet System aimed at improving transparency and convenience in financial assistance payments.

During the visits, Senator Rubina Khalid listened to beneficiaries’ concerns and directed BIS P officials to resolve their issues on a priority basis. Member of the Provincial Assembly Meher Sultana Advocate and other women leaders accompanied her.

The BISP Chairperson briefed beneficiaries on the Digital Wallet System, the free Benazir SIM, wallet activation procedures and the new payment mechanism. She explained that financial assistance would now be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ digital wallets, with SMS notifications sent once funds are deposited.

She said beneficiaries would be able to withdraw their money at any time from authorized retailers, while SMS confirmations after each transaction would ensure transparency and provide complete withdrawal details.

Senator Rubina Khalid urged beneficiaries to collect the free Benazir SIM only from BISP offices by presenting their original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and personal mobile phone. She also advised women never to hand over their mobile phones to agents or retailers while receiving payments to protect their personal information and financial security.

She further highlighted that under the new interoperability system, beneficiaries would be able to access their financial assistance from any authorized retailer of partner banks across Pakistan, regardless of their location.

During her visit to Abbottabad, the Chairperson encouraged women to keep their SIM cards secure, reject any unauthorized deductions during payment collection and immediately report such incidents to the nearest BISP office or through the Programme’s complaint management system.

Concluding the visit, Senator Rubina Khalid instructed BISP staff to provide maximum support, guidance and facilities to beneficiaries so they can receive their financial assistance without difficulty.
