Pakistan to Make Historic Miss World Debut as Aneeqa Meraj Crowned Miss World Pakistan 2026
LAHORE: Pakistan is set to achieve a historic milestone in international pageantry as Aneeqa Meraj has been crowned Miss World Pakistan 2026, becoming the first Pakistani contestant to officially represent the country at the prestigious Miss World competition.
The crowning ceremony took place at Lahore’s Flatties Hotel, where the title was presented by Dr. Shafaq Akhtar, Miss Pakistan Universal 2022, alongside Attaullah Gujar, Mr. Pakistan World.
According to an announcement shared by the Miss World organization, Aneeqa will represent Pakistan at the 75th Miss World pageant, scheduled to take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026. The event marks Pakistan’s first-ever participation in one of the world’s oldest and most recognized international beauty competitions.
A 24-year-old graduate in Business and Economics, Aneeqa is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Auditing and Accounting. She has expressed her ambition to become a State Authorized Public Accountant while actively advocating for children’s rights and girls’ education.
Speaking about her journey, Aneeqa said she hopes to use the international platform to promote education, empower young women, and present a positive image of Pakistan to the global community.
Her selection follows years of international pageant experience. She has previously represented Pakistan at several global competitions, including Miss Earth, Miss Global, Miss Cosmo, Miss Eco International, and Miss Aura International. She also earned four awards at the Freedom of the World competition held in Kosovo.
While this will be Pakistan’s debut at Miss World, the country has appeared in other international beauty contests in recent years. Contestants such as Erica Robin and Roma Riaz gained international attention after representing Pakistan at the Miss Universe competition.
Pakistan’s entry into Miss World reflects the country’s growing participation in global cultural and international events, offering a new opportunity to showcase Pakistani talent and diversity on the world stage.
