MUMBAI: Famous Bollywood director Karan Johar got a big relief from the Mumbai court in the copyright case.
The film director has moved court against a new film titled ‘Shaadi Ke Director Karan Aur Johar’ and has accused the filmmakers of copyright infringement.
After a brief hearing, a Mumbai court ordered the film’s release to be halted and the filmmakers to change the title and content of the film.
In court, the judge remarked that the film’s title and trailer showed that Karan Johar’s personality and name had been used without his permission.
According to the judge, Karan Johar has built his reputation in the industry after a long career and using Karan Johar’s name in the new film is likely to damage his identity and may involve financial benefits.
