Islamabad High Court Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani has remarked that it is very difficult to prove a money trail, even Qazi Faiz Isa could not present evidence of a money trail.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case on the petition of citizen Dr. Tashfeen Khan against the NAB call-up notice in the Islamabad High Court.
NAB has issued a summons notice to Dr. Tashfeen for alleged money laundering, the petitioner’s lawyer requested that the money was taken out legally, the money trail exists.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that if they bring evidence of a money trail, I will approve the application, it is very difficult to prove a money trail, even Qazi Faiz Isa could not present evidence of a money trail, the court adjourned the hearing of the case until January 30.
It should be noted that the matter of the presidential reference against former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Qazi Faez Isa, came to light in late May 2019 when he was a senior judge of the Supreme Court.
In the reference sent by the President to the Supreme Judicial Council, Justice Isa was accused of hiding his properties in the UK, which were allegedly in the names of his wife and children.
The presidential reference made allegations regarding the assets and requested the Supreme Judicial Council to take action under Article 209.
Later, a 10-member full bench of the Supreme Court, after lengthy hearings, declared the presidential reference against former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa null and void and accepted his request.
