Mumbai: A full emergency has been declared at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport following a bomb threat in an Air India flight.
An Air India flight with 135 passengers was on board when it landed at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport but was suddenly diverted to an isolated location, according to the World News Agency.
Security personnel cordoned off the plane and the crew quickly moved the passengers to safety. Bomb disposal personnel entered the aircraft and conducted a thorough search.
The security authorities dismissed the bomb report as false, after which the passengers were again sent to the destination in the same plane. Flight operations were also restored at the airport.
So far, the person who made the false bomb threat has not been traced. This is the sixth false report of a bomb in a plane this year, in two of which the accused has been detained.
