KARACHI: The price of gold has increased significantly in the global and local markets.
In the international bullion market, the price of gold rose by $60 per ounce to settle at a new level of $2,470.
On the other hand, the prices of 24 carat gold rose to an all-time high in local bullion markets on Thursday. At the local level, the price of gold per tola increased by Rs 4600 to Rs 254000 and the price of gold per 10 grams also increased by Rs 3944 to a new high of Rs 217764.
In contrast to the increase in gold prices, the price of silver per tola remained unchanged at Rs 2900 and the price of silver per 10 grams remained unchanged at Rs 2486.28.
Bullion market representatives say that due to reduced gold buying activities, the price of gold per tola has been undercast by Rs 4000 in the local bullion markets.
