LAHORE: IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar says that development projects of Punjab Police including Smart Police Stations are on the way towards completion.
Including 19 smart police stations in Lahore city included in development projects, 39 smart police stations across Punjab will also be completed this year.
The construction of smart police stations will save the government exchequer Rs 550 crore.
According to Dr. Usman Anwar, government land has been acquired for the construction of their own buildings in the rented buildings of the Punjab Police.
IG Punjab said that small size smart design police stations are being constructed in densely populated areas and completion of 160 development projects of Punjab Police will be ensured this year.
Apart from this, 3 important public offices in Lahore Center of Public Safety, Center of Public Access and Center of Public Trust will be completed.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that 737 police stations of Punjab have been transferred to the protocol of computerized, special initiative police stations and the front ends have been upgraded in these police stations and all these projects have been completed for the convenience of the citizens.
He said that the work of the employees’ barracks will also be started, as per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all the projects including Safe City are moving towards completion quickly.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar further said that the entire Punjab will be transferred to Safe City by June 30 next year.
