Ufone Wins Two Dragons of Asia Awards 2026 for Creative Marketing Campaigns

Ufone achieves global recognition at Dragons of Asia 2026

ISLAMABAD, October 17, 2026: Ufone 5G has earned international recognition at the Dragons of Asia Awards 2026, winning two prestigious awards for its innovative marketing campaigns. The Pakistani telecom brand secured a Gold Dragon in the ‘Best in Media’ category for its ‘Super 5’ campaign and a Black Dragon in the ‘Marketing Discipline’ category for ‘Babar Azam’s Lost Phone’.

Ufone was the only Pakistani telecom brand to win a Gold Dragon at the regional awards, highlighting the growing international recognition of Pakistan’s marketing and advertising industry.

The Dragons of Asia Awards celebrate results-driven marketing communications, recognizing campaigns that combine creativity, strategic insight and effective execution. Ufone’s double victory demonstrates how locally developed ideas can generate strong audience engagement and deliver meaningful brand impact.

Super 5 Campaign Wins Gold Dragon

Ufone’s Gold-winning ‘Super 5’ campaign promoted a package that allows customers to share data, calls and SMS with up to four friends or family members.

Launched in February 2026, the campaign featured comedian and television host Tabish Hashmi alongside former Pakistan cricket stars Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq and Saeed Ajmal, all members of Pakistan’s 2009 ICC T20 World Cup-winning squad.

The promotional campaign initially generated curiosity through social media teaser videos in which the cricketing legends hinted at a mysterious selection process. Their announcements sparked speculation among fans about a possible return to cricket.

The campaign’s final reveal offered a humorous twist, showing the former cricketers competing for a place in Tabish Hashmi’s Super 5 group rather than a spot on a cricket team.

The campaign was broadcast across television channels and digital platforms, attracting media coverage and millions of online views.

Babar Azam Campaign Earns Black Dragon

Ufone also received a Black Dragon for its ‘Babar Azam’s Lost Phone’ campaign, which promoted the company’s Weekly Grand Offer.

Launched in February 2025, the campaign began when Pakistan cricket star Babar Azam announced on social media that he had lost his phone and contacts. The announcement initially appeared to be a personal update before being revealed as part of a Ufone promotional campaign.

The storyline showed Babar searching for his missing phone alongside fans before introducing the telecom offer. The campaign quickly gained popularity, attracted international attention and generated more than 10 million views.

Both campaigns encouraged organic conversations on social media, with audiences sharing reactions and speculating about the stories before their promotional messages were revealed.

PTML CCO Celebrates International Recognition

Commenting on the achievement, Syed Atif Raza, Chief Commercial Officer of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), said the company aimed to develop campaigns that audiences would actively discuss rather than simply watch.

He emphasized the importance of understanding consumer behaviour, challenging conventional approaches and creating distinctive ideas that connect with audiences.

Raza described the international recognition as a proud moment for Ufone and praised the company’s Brands and Media teams, along with its agency partners, for their strategic planning, creativity and execution.

He added that the awards strengthened the company’s ambition to take its marketing work beyond Pakistan’s borders.

Ufone’s double victory reinforces its focus on creative marketing that combines humour, cultural relevance and consumer insights. The recognition also highlights how engaging storytelling can transform telecommunications offers into memorable campaigns that audiences choose to watch, discuss and share.
