Khalil ur Rehman Qamar Clarifies Remarks About Saba Qamar’s Bold Outfits
Pakistani playwright Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has clarified his earlier remarks about actress Saba Qamar’s bold outfits, saying that clothing choices are a personal matter, while reiterating his own preferences regarding costumes in dramas written by him.
Speaking during a recent podcast, Qamar said he had withdrawn his earlier comments about Saba Qamar. He maintained that the actress was free to wear whatever she wanted and that he could not dictate her personal choices.
According to the playwright, decisions about personal clothing are an individual matter and a matter between the person and Allah.
However, Qamar made it clear that he does not permit bold outfits in dramas written by him. He said he also dislikes costumes with deep necklines, indicating that he maintains specific standards for wardrobe choices in his scripts.
Commenting on revealing clothing, the writer also criticised what he described as a contradiction in men’s attitudes, arguing that some men dress modestly themselves while encouraging women to wear less clothing.
His latest remarks have brought renewed attention to his earlier comments about Saba Qamar and the broader discussion surrounding personal choice, modesty and costume preferences in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
