Pakistani Citizen Killed in Riyadh Airport Attack, 11 Injured

RIYADH, October 12, 2026: A Pakistani citizen was killed and 11 other people were injured in a fresh attack on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, on Sunday, according to the country’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

The incident occurred just a day after another deadly attack on the airport killed 12 people and injured more than 300, raising serious concerns about the security of Saudi Arabia’s aviation infrastructure.

According to the Saudi-led coalition, an unidentified projectile struck Terminal 4 of the airport, triggering a fire. Emergency response teams were deployed to control the blaze and respond to the incident.

GACA confirmed that the Pakistani resident died in the latest attack, while the injured were immediately transferred to hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities are assessing the material damage and inspecting airport facilities to determine their safety.

Saudi-led coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki also reported that air defence systems intercepted a cruise missile near King Khalid International Airport.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for several attacks carried out over a 24-hour period, saying it had used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. The group claimed to have targeted airports in Riyadh and Dammam, along with two facilities belonging to Saudi oil company Aramco.

Saudi authorities also confirmed an attack targeting King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province.

The latest incident occurred while King Khalid International Airport remained closed following Saturday’s deadly strike. Airport authorities are continuing security assessments and reviewing the damage caused by the attacks.

In a separate development, India’s embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed that an Indian citizen injured in Saturday’s attack had died on Sunday, bringing the reported death toll from that incident to 13, according to subsequent reports.

The Houthis have warned of further attacks, while Saudi authorities continue to assess the latest damage and monitor the security situation.
