Yadgar-e-Fatah Monument Opens to Public in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, October 3, 2026: The newly opened Yadgar-e-Fatah Monument in Islamabad attracted a large number of visitors after being opened to the general public, commemorating Pakistan’s victory in the Marka-e-Haq Operation 2025 and honoring the sacrifices of those who lost their lives for the country.

A special opening ceremony was jointly organized at the monument by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Capital Development Authority (CDA). The event brought together people from different walks of life to mark what organizers described as a moment of national pride.

Speaking to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil said the monument represents a landmark associated with the nation’s victory, courage and determination. He described its opening as a significant moment of pride for both the present generation and those to come.

The ceremony was attended by several notable personalities, including President Chess Federation Zeeshan Naqvi, emerging cricketer Razaullah, and renowned sports personality ‘Chacha Cricket’.

Razaullah paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, expressing pride in being a Pakistani. Chacha Cricket also congratulated the nation and highlighted the spirit of sacrifice and national achievement.

A documentary presented during the ceremony highlighted the monument’s eight-month construction journey, along with the architectural concept behind its design.

The monument features five archways, representing the five pillars of Islam and, according to the organizers, five key pillars of the country: the government, military, media, people and national ideology.

Its architectural design also incorporates representations of Pakistan’s armed forces, including the Army, Air Force and Navy, as well as cyber defence and space warfare capabilities.

The opening ceremony also featured a projection-mapping show, using lights and visuals to highlight the monument’s significance and moments associated with the Marka-e-Haq Operation.

A musical performance, featuring two finalists from Pakistan Idol, was also staged and received appreciation from the audience.

Following the opening, school and college students were among the visitors seen taking photographs and recording videos in front of the illuminated monument.

The Yadgar-e-Fatah Monument will be open to the public every day from 5pm to 10pm, except Mondays. Visitors can obtain free entry tickets through the monument’s official ticketing website.Yadgarefatah.net.
