FCEPL Deploys 450kW Solar PV System at Nara Dairy Farm
Karachi: FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) has deployed a 450kW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system integrated with a 255kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at its Nara Dairy Farm, marking another step in the company’s efforts to strengthen sustainable energy use across its operations.
The project, awarded to DSG Energy, is aimed at improving energy resilience, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting FCEPL’s transition toward lower-carbon operations.
FCEPL CEO and Managing Director Kashan Hasan said the installation reflected the company’s focus on energy-conscious operations and its plans to further expand its solar footprint across production facilities and dairy operations.
He said the initiative aligned with FCEPL’s “Grass to Glass” journey and its broader purpose of nourishing Pakistan while supporting environmental and community-focused initiatives.
The integration of solar generation with battery storage is designed to maximize renewable energy consumption, reduce dependence on conventional fuel-based power generation, lower energy costs and provide a more reliable power supply for critical dairy farm operations.
Daniyal Siddiqui, CEO of DSG Energy, said the transition to clean energy involved more than renewable power generation, emphasizing the importance of intelligent energy systems capable of delivering reliability, efficiency and long-term value.
He described the Nara Dairy Farm project as a meaningful step in FCEPL’s sustainability journey and said DSG Energy was pleased to support the company’s clean-energy efforts.
The project comes as businesses in Pakistan increasingly explore integrated energy solutions that combine solar generation, battery storage and energy management systems rather than relying solely on conventional solar installations.
