FrieslandCampina Engro, Citi Pakistan Launch Supplier Financing Programme

KARACHI, September 1, 2026: FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) has partnered with Citi Pakistan to introduce a digital supplier financing programme aimed at improving liquidity for suppliers and strengthening the resilience of its supply chain.

The initiative will be delivered through Citi’s Supplier Finance digital platform, allowing eligible FCEPL suppliers to receive early payment against approved invoices while the company continues to operate under its agreed payment terms.

According to FCEPL, the arrangement is designed to support suppliers’ working capital needs without disrupting the company’s existing payment framework. The programme is expected to provide greater financial flexibility, particularly for smaller and emerging businesses operating within FCEPL’s supply chain.

FCEPL Managing Director Kashan Hasan said financial imbalances across supplier networks can prevent capable businesses from securing commercial opportunities. He said the partnership would help create a more level playing field by giving smaller suppliers improved access to capital and enabling them to participate more effectively in FCEPL’s wider “Grass to Glass” value chain.

Hasan added that supporting stakeholders across the ecosystem was an important part of the company’s broader purpose of “Nourishing Pakistan.”Citi Pakistan Country Officer and Banking Head Habib Yousuf said the partnership demonstrates how Citi’s international capabilities can be applied to address local business requirements.

He said supplier financing can help businesses access working capital on more competitive terms, giving them greater capacity to manage operations and pursue growth opportunities.Beyond supporting suppliers, the programme is also expected to help FCEPL strengthen its treasury and working capital management as the initiative develops. The collaboration reflects the companies’ shared focus on sustainable business growth, stronger local enterprises and a more resilient corporate ecosystem in Pakistan.
