Reporter Questions Ronaldo’s Impact on Al Nass
Al Nassr head coach Ange Postecoglou was involved in a heated exchange with a journalist over Cristiano Ronaldo following the Saudi club’s heavy 4-0 defeat to Al Ain in the opening match of the Asian Champions League Elite.
The reporter questioned whether Ronaldo’s presence was actually beneficial to Al Nassr, arguing that the team had played better football and recorded more victories when the Portuguese superstar was absent.
Postecoglou rejected the suggestion and defended Ronaldo, insisting that the players were working hard and that all of the team’s key players, including Ronaldo, were contributing to the squad.
The discussion became more intense when the journalist criticized Ronaldo’s recent performances and claimed that the forward had done little in his previous three matches.
The Al Nassr coach immediately challenged the claim, asking, “Nothing? Then how many goals does he have?”
Ronaldo had scored twice in Al Nassr’s first three matches of the season. However, he has managed only one goal across his last four appearances.
Against Al Ain, Al Nassr registered just three shots on target, while Ronaldo recorded 29 touches during the match.
The defeat has sparked further discussion about Al Nassr’s performances and Ronaldo’s role as the club continues its campaign in the Asian Champions League Elite.
