Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan will continue to partner closely with the US for peace and stability in the region.
In his statement on the social networking platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he thanked US President Donald Trump for recognizing and appreciating Pakistan’s role and support in counter-terrorism efforts in Afghanistan.
He said that Pakistan has always played a key role in counter-terrorism efforts to deprive terrorists and extremist groups of safe havens and prevent their operations against any country.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is steadfast and determined in its struggle to eradicate terrorism. For this purpose, Pakistan has made immense sacrifices. This includes the sacrifice of the lives of more than 80,000 brave soldiers and civilians.
The Prime Minister said that the resolve of Pakistan’s leadership and people is unwavering and all possible steps will be taken to eradicate terrorism from the country. Pakistan will continue to work closely with the United States to establish peace and stability in the region.
