The mystery of the body found in the camp of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former provincial minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has begun to be solved and a joint team of Lahore Police Operation and Investigation Wing has arrested the alleged accused.
According to the report, the absconding accused was arrested from Mianwali within 24 hours, the body was recovered from the quarters of the political leader’s camp yesterday.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said that the joint team arrested the accused constable Arshad from Mianwali. The accused tried to hide in his sister’s house in Mianwali. The accused confessed to the murder and also gave initial details.
According to DIG Operations, the accused Arshad had rented a quarter at Mian Aslam’s camp. After the murder, the accused threw the murder weapon into the canal. Further investigation is underway with the accused.
The police said that the body found in Mian Aslam Iqbal’s camp has been identified as Imran, the deceased has been said to be a resident of Faisalabad, the deceased was a dismissed officer of the police department.
The police further said that the accused Arshad shot him during a quarrel while intoxicated in the quarters. After the murder, the accused Arshad fled the scene and was arrested.
