The United Nations has said that the Afghan Taliban continue to support the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), due to which terrorist attacks in Pakistan are increasing.

The United Nations Security Council has issued a report on the growth of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and the efforts of Pakistani security forces, which mentions terrorism, the role of Afghanistan and the high performance of Pakistani security forces.

According to the report, more than two dozen terrorist groups are active in Afghanistan. These groups have become a major challenge not only for Afghanistan but also for the security of the entire region. Since the establishment of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, the impact of terrorist groups has increased further.

The report said that the increasing operations of ISIS in Afghanistan and the support of the Afghan Taliban are a major threat to the region. While trying to expand its operations in Pakistan, ISIS Khorasan suffered a major setback. Pakistani security forces foiled the external operations branch of ISIS Khorasan.

It said that Pakistani security forces also arrested key ISIS terrorists, including Adil Panjshiri, Abu Mundhar and Kaka Yunus.

The report said that Fitna al-Khawarij further consolidated its influence in Afghanistan, which led to an increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, the number of these attacks is more than 600 and Fitna al-Khawarij has used Afghan soil for these attacks. The Afghan Taliban has continued to provide logistical and operational support to Fitna al-Khawarij as well as financial support.

According to the report, as a result of this support, Fitna al-Khawarij established new training camps in different provinces of Afghanistan and recruited its supporters within the Taliban. The increasing cooperation between various terrorist organizations in Afghanistan has become a serious challenge to the security of the region.

The United Nations said that groups like Fitna al-Khawarij, the Afghan Taliban and al-Qaeda are now not only present in Afghanistan but are also increasing cooperation with each other. A special kind of harmony and cooperation is seen in the relations between these groups, which is increasing their power and influence.

According to the report, this growing alliance poses serious threats not only to the security of Afghanistan but also to the entire region. The growing cooperation between the TTP and the Afghan Taliban is a new and dangerous trend. These two groups are not only cooperating with each other ideologically and militarily, but are also jointly carrying out terrorist acts.

The growing relations between these groups have created a new non-regional threat in the region. There is also cooperation between the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij on issues such as the provision of suicide bombers and fighters and ideological guidance. This cooperation is giving these terrorist groups support for each other and they can take the form of an umbrella organization for other groups in the region.

It said that the number of ISIS supporters has increased in the provinces of Badakhshan and Kunduz in Afghanistan, in addition to the presence of this group in the southern provinces like Helmand and Kandahar, ISIS is succeeding in increasing its supporters and strengthening its position in Afghanistan.

The report said that after the attack on foreign tourists in Bamyan, it came to light that the Taliban’s Director General of Intelligence, Maulvi Naik Mohammad Azifa, was involved in it. The deputy of ISIS Khorasan, Maulvi Rajab, has played a prominent role in several important suicide attacks in Afghanistan. Afghanistan has become the axis of ISIS Khorasan’s growth and terrorist activities. This terrorist group provides training to fighters in different provinces of Afghanistan, including suicide bombers and other terrorists.

According to the report, all these terrorists were involved in terrorist activities, training and funding of militants. The East Turkestan Islamic Movement, Turkestan Islamic Party have maintained links with groups like Fitnat al-Khawarij, also known as TTP, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and Jamaat Ansarullah.

According to the report, these organizations have established their local headquarters and training camps in different provinces of Afghanistan such as Balkh, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Kabul and Baghlan. The Balochistan Liberation Army has carried out several major attacks in the southern areas of Pakistan and has also included women in its ranks.

The report said that the Majeed Brigade has also claimed responsibility for major attacks during this period and their links are maintained with the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, Turkestan Islamic Party, Fitnat al-Khawarij and ISIS. These groups are cooperating with each other on the basis of their operations in Afghanistan.

It said that their cooperation has increased terrorism in Balochistan, the Balochistan Liberation Army has established strategic relations with these groups that are helping to give a new direction to their operations, the international community needs to take joint measures against the ongoing terrorism in Afghanistan to resolve this crisis.
