Quetta: 11 workers killed and many others injured in a bomb blast in Harnai coal mines area.
According to security sources, a bomb blast has taken place on a pickup vehicle in the coal mines area of Shahrug tehsil of Harnai, in which 11 workers were killed and 6 injured, who have been shifted to the hospital.
According to initial reports, the deceased workers belong to Swat. DC Harnai Hazrat Wali says that the deceased and injured people used to work in coal mines. After the incident, the bodies and injured have been shifted to BHU Shahrug
The explosion took place when the workers were going from the mine to the market in a vehicle, according to initial reports, the explosion was caused by an IED.
After the explosion, a team of police and law enforcement agencies reached the scene and collected evidence and cordoned off the area and an investigation has been launched.
Explosive material was planted on the roadside, provincial government spokesperson
On the other hand, the Balochistan government has condemned the terrorist incident adjacent to the road in Shahrag Takri Tehsil. According to provincial government spokesperson Shahid Rind, an investigation into the incident has been ordered and law enforcement agencies have reached the scene.
He said that evidence is being collected. Initial investigations show that explosive material was planted on the roadside. The injured workers are being given medical assistance at Shahrag Hospital.
Federal Interior Minister’s condemnation
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the explosion near a workers’ vehicle in Shahrag area of Balochistan and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the incident that killed 9 workers.
He expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the deceased workers and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured workers. Mohsin Naqvi said that the beasts who target innocent people do not deserve any concessions. We share the grief of the families of the deceased workers equally. We stand with the bereaved families in their hour of sorrow.
