Former national team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has predicted his top 4 teams for the Champions Trophy.
In his recent interview, former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed named Pakistan and arch-rivals India as the favorites to make it to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Sarfaraz Ahmed left England, South Africa and New Zealand out of the semi-final race, while Afghanistan, considered the dark horse of the tournament, was placed in the top 4.
The former captain said that if someone asks me to choose four semi-finalists, I think I will choose Pakistan, India, Australia and Afghanistan.
He said that other teams participating in the tournament can also be a nuisance, it would be foolish to ignore them.
Sarfaraz Ahmed admitted that there will be pressure on Pakistan to play on its home ground because as the defending champions of the event, the expectations of the fans will be very high.
The former captain described Afghanistan as a dangerous side in the tournament and said that they have the potential to cause an upset in the event.
It should be noted that the ICC has appointed former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed as the ambassador of the Champions Trophy.
The Champions Trophy will begin on February 19 with matches against Pakistan and New Zealand, while the final of the event will be played on March 9.
