Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is known for her stellar acting and bold choices. But her box office results over the past ten years tell a different story.
While Kangana has given hits like “Queen” and “Tanu Weds Manu”, her recent films have failed to make a mark at the box office.
Out of Kangana’s total 31 films, 22 have been declared flops. Her latest release “Emergency” is her sixth consecutive flop. In the last decade, 10 out of her 11 films have flopped, with only “Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi” (2019) achieving average success.
Film analyst Taran Adarsh says, “Kangana’s problem is that she has taken too much interest in politics. This makes it difficult for the audience to accept her as an actress. Her choice of films has also hurt her. If she does more light-hearted films, the audience might get interested again.”
Vishek Chauhan, who owns a cinema hall in Bihar, said that both Kangana’s films “Tejas” and “Emergency” flopped and many shows had to be cancelled. “Kangana is a wonderful actress but the stories in her films seem boring and similar,” he added.
