A foreign news agency quoted a US official as saying that President Joe Biden’s administration has sent a proposal to Congress to sell $8 billion worth of weapons to Israel. The arms sale agreement with Israel will be signed after approval by Congressional and Senate committees.
According to the report, the proposed weapons to be sold to Israel include small bombs, weapons for fighter jets, combat helicopters, ammunition and warheads. The US State Department did not comment on the proposed arms sale agreement to Israel.
Thousands of protesters against the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza have previously demanded that the US ban arms sales to Israel, but there has been no change in US policy towards Israel.
