Bangladesh all-rounder Taskin Ahmed has broken Mohammad Amir’s 4-year-old record in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Taskin Ahmed achieved this milestone in the fifth match of the BPL played between Darbar Badshahi and Dhaka Capitals.
He took 7 wickets for 19 runs in his quota of 4 overs, thus equaling Mohammad Amir’s record set in T20 cricket.
Mohammad Amir had represented Khulna Tigers against Sylhet Royals in the 2020 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, taking 6 wickets for 17 runs.
The record for the best bowling in T20 is held by Malaysia’s Siazrol Adrus, who took 7 wickets for 8 runs in an international match against China last year.
Netherlands’ Colin Ackerman has achieved the feat of taking 7 wickets for 18 runs for Leicestershire against Birmingham Bears in England’s Vitality Blast and is in second place.
However, Taskin Ahmed has now broken Amir’s record and occupied the third position.
