Karachi: MQM Pakistan has announced to celebrate Muhajir Culture Day, the date in this regard has also been revealed.
Addressing a press conference held at the party’s Bahadurabad headquarters, MQM Pakistan Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced to celebrate Muhajir Culture Day on December 24 at the Governor House. Senior party leaders Dr. Farooq Sattar and Anis Qaimkhani and others were also present on the occasion.
MQM Pakistan Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that this day will be an opportunity to highlight the culture and heritage of the founders of Pakistan. Governor House Karachi is a bouquet where people speaking different languages celebrate their culture.
He said that this culture is the national asset of Pakistan and we have to show openness while respecting our cultures. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the quota system was imposed on linguistic basis. Before the formation of Pakistan, our ancestors were Pakistanis and we are also Pakistanis.
Addressing the press conference, MQM senior leader Dr. Farooq Sattar said that Sindh is a peaceful province, this is the land of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. Karachi is the abode of all cultures of Pakistan and Muhajir Culture Day will highlight the cultural identity of the migrants and will also be a means of strengthening national unity.
He added that Muhajir culture is actually the culture of the founders of Pakistan and kurta-pajama is a representative garment of this culture.
MQM Pakistan welcomed the announcement of the Sindh Governor to celebrate Muhajir Culture Day and said that this initiative will be helpful in promoting national harmony along with giving a positive message. MQM Pakistan appealed to the workers to participate fully in the Muhajir Culture Day celebrations held at the Governor House on December 24 and make this national day a success.
