Islamabad: The inflation rate in the country has started to rise again, the inflation rate increased by 0.38 percent last week and the annual inflation rate has increased from 3.71 percent to 4.64 percent.
During the last week, 15 items became more expensive and 13 items became cheaper, while the prices of 23 items remained stable.
The weekly inflation report by the Federal Bureau of Statistics on Friday said that the segment with an income of Rs 22,889 to Rs 29,517 per month was the most affected by inflation in the country during the last week, and the inflation rate for this segment increased by 4.83 percent.
According to the weekly inflation report, during the recent week, the price of tomatoes increased by 56.66 percent, garlic by 1.40 percent, sugar by 0.23 percent, jaggery by 0.28 percent, mustard oil by 0.74 percent, cooking oil by 0.79 percent, LPG by 0.71 percent, firewood by 1.57 percent and ghee by 0.25 percent.
The price of gram dal decreased by 0.98 percent, moong dal by 0.27 percent, onion by 4.16 percent, potato by 3.83 percent, egg by 2.72 percent, banana by 0.56 percent, flour by 0.76 percent, diesel by 1.17 percent and broken rice by 0.27 percent.
The data shows that during the recent week, the inflation rate for the group earning up to Rs 17,732 per month on an annual basis in terms of sensitive price indices increased by 0.68 percent to 4.79 percent, for the group earning between Rs 17,733 and Rs 22,888 per month, the inflation rate increased by 0.60 percent to 4.70 percent, and for the group earning between Rs 22,889 and Rs 29,517 per month, the inflation rate increased by 0.46 percent to 4.83 percent.
Similarly, the inflation rate for the group with an income of Rs. 29,518 to Rs. 44,175 per month increased by 0.41 percent to 4.53 percent, while for the group with an income of more than Rs. 44,176 per month, the inflation rate increased by 0.30 percent to 4.61 percent.
