KYIV: The Ukrainian president has said that Russia has begun to use a large number of North Korean troops to attack Ukrainian targets in the Kursk region.
There has been no Russian reaction to this at this time. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Russia has begun to deploy North Korean troops against the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region.
He said this during his daily briefing last night. According to Zelensky, he has preliminary data, which indicates that Russia has begun to use a large number of North Korean troops in its attacks.
According to the Ukrainian president, the North Korean troops are part of the joint forces and are especially active in Kursk.
Washington and Seoul have accused Pyongyang of sending more than 10,000 troops to Moscow’s aid after Russia and North Korea signed a historic defense treaty this summer.
The two U.S. rivals have strengthened their military ties since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Zelensky said last month that 11,000 North Korean troops were in Russia’s western Kursk region. Russian officials, meanwhile, said firefighters were battling a blaze sparked by a drone strike in the western Oryol region.
