Lahore: PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi says that it is not possible for Pakistan to play in India and India not to come to Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi paid a detailed visit to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore late last night and reviewed the progress of the upgrade project.
On this occasion, the FWO Project Director, Directors Infrastructure, Domestic Cricket and NESPAK officials were also present, who briefed the chairman about the progress of the project.
Mohsin Naqvi went to the last step of the newly constructed stand and observed the view of the stadium from there. He reiterated that the complete construction of the stadium will be completed by the last week of December before the Champions Trophy tournament.
In this regard, Mohsin Naqvi, while giving instructions to the concerned authorities, stressed on ensuring high quality in the construction work.
Mohsin Naqvi, while talking to the media on this occasion, said that decisions will be taken in the best interest of Pakistan cricket and will field Pakistan’s best team for the event.
The PCB Chairman expressed satisfaction over the pace of construction work and said that 70 percent of the overall work of the Gaddafi Stadium upgrade project has been completed, and it has now become a world-class stadium.
He said that work is underway rapidly on the construction of the enclosures step, while the floors of the main building have also been completed, and the final phase of the work on the pavilion and boxes is underway.
He expressed his determination that by the grace of Allah, the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan and the PCB will take all possible steps in the interest of Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi said on this occasion that consultations are underway with the ICC to improve cricket relations between Pakistan and India, and he intends to open the doors of cricket between the two countries.
He further said that the best decisions will be made in the interest of Pakistan cricket and the national team’s preparation will be complete in any situation.
