The body of Jewish scholar Zvi Kogan, who had been missing for three days, has been found in the United Arab Emirates, which Israel has described as a barbaric anti-Semitic incident.
According to the international news agency, the Jewish rabbi belonged to the Chabad Lubavitch movement, a prominent branch of Orthodox Judaism, and was last seen in a shopping mall in Dubai on Thursday.
On Sunday morning, the Emirati Ministry of Interior declared the Jewish rabbi missing and uncontactable. It was suspected that he had been kidnapped.
Later, UAE authorities confirmed that the body of the missing Jewish rabbi had been found and three people were detained on suspicion of murder, but their identities were not disclosed.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that all possible action would be taken to bring those responsible for the murder of the Jewish rabbi to justice.
Israeli media blamed Iran for the murder.
Iran has denied allegations of involvement in the murder of a Jewish scholar in the United Arab Emirates, saying that all such reports are based on lies.
According to Israeli media, Jewish Rabbi Zvi Kogan also held citizenship of the European country of Moldova and traveled to Dubai on a Moldovan passport.
