The refusal of the Indian team to come to Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 put the tournament in jeopardy.
The Indian board and ICC are insisting that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) adopt a hybrid model for Champions Trophy, but the board has flatly refused while no contact has been made so far to hold matches in UAE.
After office hours on Friday night, the PCB received an email from the ICC, quoting the Indian letter stating that the government did not allow the team to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
The PCB informed the government about the situation from which the reply was received that this time take a strict stand, it is a question of national honor, when all the teams are coming here, how can India refuse without any reason.
Now Pakistan is sending a letter to ICC in 24 to 48 hours, in which it will be informed about the government’s stand of not playing India in future. It will also list what problems may arise from not getting the permission.
Sources said that the PCB has received instructions from the government to get the reasons for India’s decision in writing, and legal action may also be possible.
In the future, such tournaments in which India participates, the Pakistani team may refuse to participate. The schedule of the event was supposed to be released yesterday, but it could not be. .
