National team captain Muhammad Rizwan opened his mouth after the defeat against Australia.
Speaking at a press conference after Australia’s wicket loss in the first match of the series in Melbourne, he said, “We decided that whatever the circumstances may be, we will fight and try to win.”
He said that the team fought well against the Kangaroos, but the results did not go in our favor. Proud of the way the team fought, Rizwan praised Haris Rauf’s bowling, saying his exceptional performance kept Pakistan in the match.
Earlier on behalf of Pakistan, Rizwan scored 44 runs off 71 balls while Naseem Shah played a brilliant innings of 40 runs off 39 balls. The national team could only score 203 runs in 46.4 overs against Australia and returned to the pavilion.
Australia won the match by scoring 207 runs for 8 wickets in just 34 overs, in this match Haris Rauf took 3 wickets, Shaheen Shah Afridi took 2 wickets while Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain took one wicket each.
With the victory, Australia take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series, the second of which will be played in Adelaide on November 8.
