Islamabad: A delegation of Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA) headed by Sheikh Faisal bin Qasim Al Thani met with the Prime Minister in which they discussed deepening economic relations and finding new ways of cooperation.
The delegation included representatives of Qatar’s leading business personalities and influential sectors of the economy. The delegation included Mr. Saud bin Omar bin Hamad Almana, Vice Chairman and CEO of Almana Group, Mr. Khalid Ahmad Almanai, Executive Director of Munai Corporation, Chairman MINA (MENA) and Chief Country Officer of Deutsche Bank Mr. Salah Muhammad Jeida, Mansoor. Sheikh Mansour bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Jassim Al Thani Group, Mr. Nabeel Abu Isa, CEO of Blue Salon and Mr. Yusuf Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Director of Sandin Group were present.
The meeting emphasized on identifying common goals to strengthen trade, investment and economic partnership.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif formally invited Qatari business leaders to invest in Pakistan. The Prime Minister highlighted the investment opportunities in the sectors of energy, infrastructure and other important economic projects as an attractive investment destination for Pakistan.
The delegation expressed interest in the economic scenario of Pakistan and in particular the upcoming projects of energy, technology and infrastructure development. During the meeting, Pakistan-Qatar economic relations were reviewed and further possible cooperation in this regard could be helpful in promoting job creation, innovation and sustainable development in both countries.
The QBA delegation responded positively to the Prime Minister’s invitation and showed keen interest in increasing its investment in Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure sectors. The Prime Minister and the Qatari delegation emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation to strengthen economic stability and development.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif Minister of Defense, Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb and Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Mr. Ataullah Tarar were also present in the meeting.
