According to Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Rashid Mehmood Langriyal, while addressing the members of FPCCI, hoped for another 150 to 200 basis points in the interest rate, adding that there is no other scope in the country. FBR Chairman said that even the richest 5% of the country is not filing taxes, Rashid Mehmood Langriyal reaffirmed the demand of FPCCI to target tax evaders instead of taxpayers for decades.
He directed the FBR grade 19 officer to be the focal person for resolving day-to-day issues and to convey to him the urgent matters of trade associations.
The FBR chairman said that whatever tax is collected is used to pay interest on loans, admitting that there have been economic difficulties in recent years and agreed that industries need to address the issues. face, but said that the economy is showing signs of recovery.
FPCCI President Atif Ikram Shaikh said that the Federation and the FBR have agreed to consult, cooperate and coordinate on the comprehensive taxation reform agenda.
