Rawalpindi: 12 Khawarij were killed in heavy clashes between security forces and terrorists in North and South Waziristan on September 19 and 20.
According to ISPR, on September 19, the security forces came to know about the transportation of a group of 7 terrorists trying to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Spinwam area of North Waziristan, on which the terrorists were surrounded.
After a fierce exchange of fire with the security forces, all 7 Khawarij were killed and a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from their possession.
Another clash took place in Ladha area of South Waziristan in which a group of Khawarij attacked a post of security forces which was foiled.
The security forces killed 5 Khawarij, however, during the intense firing, 6 brave soldiers of the country fought bravely and earned the noble status of martyrdom.
Clearance operations are underway to eliminate any remaining Khawarij in the area. Pakistan’s security forces are committed to rooting out the menace of terrorism and the sacrifices of our brave men reinforce this resolve.
