California: YouTube has introduced a new AI troubleshooting tool that will help users recover hacked accounts.
The AI chatbot “Support Assistant” will act as a guide for users to re-secure their login and get their account back after being hacked.
Eligible users will be able to access the tool in the YouTube Help Center by clicking the “Chat with our Hacked Channel Assistant” button.
After selecting the option, the chatbot will ask the user a series of questions about themselves and their account to protect their Google login and eliminate any changes made to the channel by the hacker. .
The tool will then encourage the user to strengthen their account security to reduce the risk of being hacked in the future.
The new tool is currently only available in English and certain features within the tool are only available to “special users”. However, Google subsidiary YouTube plans to make this feature available to all users in the future.
